SUMMARY: FICIX1 will be upgraded to new switch platform Mon 30-June-2008. All services
will be down during switch installation. Estimated time for the work is 2 hours max,
and during that time FICIX2 (Pasila, Helsinki) will provide redundancy.

DETAILS: New Foundry BigIron RX8 switch will be installed and current switch
removed from service. All 10GE optics will be replaced as well for compability reasons.
This replacement will cause all services to be down. Estimated timeframe for
the work is max 2 hours.

Members are requested NOT to shutdown ports during the work. However, to
avoid unnecessary blackholing of traffic, preferring FICIX2 NLRI's or
shutting down BGP sessions at FICIX1 are recommendable actions.

FICIX2 -site will be in full operation during the change.

Members should notify internal and external operational units about this
planned work, most important being NOC's and Helpdesks/Customer Services.
