SUMMARY: FICIX2 switch and line card software update.

DETAILS: FICIX2 switch, Extreme BD8800, has rebooted twice so far: one 10G
line card reset and one CPU card reboot. There are known issues with
sporadic multicast replication with the software version currently in operation.
To avoid further unscheluded reboots an upgrade is required. Software upgrade
from current version requires line card firmware update as well.
Estimated downtime is less than 30 minutes although the reserved window is
60 minutes to allow multiple reboots worst case scenario.

Please notice that if routers connected to FICIX2 do not recognize port down
situation the time for rerouting may be significant.
To avoid significant routing black-holes members are encouraged to move traffic
as much as possible to FICIX1 before maintenance starts.

Members are also encouraged to make sure that networks connected FICIX1 are
capable to handle the required traffic flows during the maintenance, as well
as to make sure that backbones do survive the abnormal traffic patterns.

Members may notify internal and external operational units about this
planned work, most important being NOC's and Helpdesks/Customer Services.
