All services will be down during switch installation. Estimated time for the work is 3 hours max, and during that time FICIX1 (Otaniemi, Espoo) will provide redundancy. DETAILS: New Extreme BlackDiamond 8810 switch will be installed and current switch removed from service. All optics and fiber patch cables will be replaced as well, expect 10GbE modules/cables (which remain as they are). This replacement will cause all services to be down. Estimated timeframe for the work is max 3 hours. Members are requested NOT to shutdown ports during the work. However, to avoid unnecessary blackholing of traffic, preferring FICIX1 NLRI's or shutting down BGP sessions at FICIX2 are recommendable actions. FICIX1 -site will be in full operation during the change. Members should notify internal and external operational units about this planned work, most important being NOC's and Helpdesks/Customer Services.
